In May 2018,I got my hands on an old Sony tape recorder and a bunch of blank cassettes. After spending a day messing around with it, I came up with the idea for the Jim Dusty Lucky Dip project.

I've been making tapes as often as I can ever since. Each tape consists of 6 songs including new and old originals, covers and collaborations with some great fellow musicians and friends.

Every tape is different, and each has its own unique hand-drawn cover made from recycled cardboard. Every song is recorded live, directly into the built in mic of the tape recorder. They are extremely lo-fi and riddled with the mistakes and awkward banter you've come to know and love from Jim Dusty.

This compilation is made up of some of the best takes from the first 21 tapes (126 unique recordings).
