While the minutes trickled down the drain
Well it looks like I'll be late again

There's a tangled nest of blue things
In the alcoves of my chest
I've been trying to get high enough to reach it
Everytime I lose my balance, fall back down, make a mess

Blessed are those
Who are capable of letting go
Forgiveness moves so slow
You gotta give it room to grow

I've been spending too much money
I've been staying out too late
I've been wasting too much time on my worries
I've been ripping myself to bits over every mistake

And the bowerbirds take pieces of my history
Weave them into the walls
They've built a monument for every little defeat
A scowling effigy that has become a part of me
