And I'm inclined to agree
I don't think I could give my life for stranger in the heat of an emergency

A victim of the unpredictable
A sudden change in the breeze
You took the force of the impact down in that old familiar airfield

He was only fourteen
An enthusiastic athlete
A few breaks and bruises but set to make a full recovery

But how did you muster the courage
Where did you find the resolve
In those free falling seconds you made a decision to fork out the ultimate toll

And someone once told me that there are two truths to define all of humanity
That we are all unique and that we're all the same, we are all the same

The headlines called you a monster
So a monster people will see
Hell I've got my issues but I could never kill for an ideology

The deep-rooted fear of the unknown
Set something amiss in your brain
You uttered your benediction and wrought havoc most holy and grave

And heresy is no match
for a semi-automatic
Your friends used to tell you to calm down said that you were being overdramatic

But how did you muster the courage
Where did you get the nerve
To take on the role of the reaper on behalf of the power you serve
